Porto Mist brings the soft, muted character its name suggests to a floor made almost entirely of natural cork. The surface is real cork bark, harvested without felling a single tree: cork oaks live up to 200 years and one tree can be peeled around 20 times over its life, which makes this one of the most sustainable floors you can put in your home.

At 7/16 inch (11 mm) thick, this is a substantial three-layer plank. A 0.12 inch (3 mm) natural cork wear surface sits over a 0.27 inch (6.8 mm) E1 grade moisture resistant HDF core, with a 0.05 inch (1.2 mm) agglomerated cork backing underneath. The top is sealed with a HotCoating wear layer and a high resistant Natural Shield water-based polyurethane finish that shrugs off everyday spills.

Underfoot it feels unlike any hard flooring. Cork's cell structure packs roughly 40 million air-filled cells into every cubic centimeter, so the floor insulates naturally and stays comfortable even in winter, barefoot included. Those same honeycomb cells absorb impact sound instead of bouncing it around the room, and the material's permanent elasticity is gentle on ankles and helps prevent slips.

Planks join with the Uniclic click lock profile and float over the subfloor, so installation needs no glue. Rated commercial class 33 and domestic class 23, Porto Mist is at home anywhere from a busy storefront to a bedroom, and it can go on walls as well as floors.
