Silver Birch Cork Flooring
The classic ribbon-pattern cork, now in a 1/2 inch (12 mm) floating plank with its own built-in cork underlay.
Silver Birch is the most popular pattern in cork flooring for a reason. Narrow stripes run the length of each plank, shot through with natural cork golds, so the floor reads like the narrow strip hardwood of a 1920s home. If you grew up around slim oak, maple, or cherry strips, this is that charm translated into cork.
This is the thick version of the pattern: a full 1/2 inch (12 mm) floating plank built from a 1/8 inch (3 mm) natural cork top layer over a 1/4 inch (6 mm) E1 class high density fiberboard core, with a 1/8 inch (3 mm) cork underlay already attached underneath. That extra-thick cork bottom layer means most homes need no additional insulation layer under the floor.
Cork provides cushioning and thermal insulation. Compare the acoustic test report for the complete floor assembly, and follow the product’s installation and care requirements.
Why this floor
- Published acoustic data: IIC 55 on 5.5 inch concrete without a suspended ceiling, and 19 dB impact-sound improvement, ΔLw, ISO 140-8. These values apply to the tested assembly.
- Uniclic click lock profile: planks float over the subfloor with no glue or nails.
- Attached 1/8 inch (3 mm) cork underlay: thick enough that most installations need no separate insulation layer.
- Rated Domestic class 23 and Light Commercial class 46, backed by a 10-year residential wear warranty, a joint integrity warranty, and a lifetime structural warranty.
- Insulates against thermal swings as well as sound: it helps keep unwanted heat out in summer and warmth in the room in winter, trimming heating and cooling bills.
- Review the selected product’s emissions documentation and cleaning requirements.
- Made with formaldehyde-free adhesives from a completely natural, renewable material, with a stain-resistant, impact-resistant surface.

Important product note
Silver Birch is also offered as a glue-down cork tile in 1/4 inch (6 mm) and 5/16 inch (8 mm) thicknesses. If you prefer a glued installation or a slimmer profile, the same ribbon pattern is available in those formats; this 1/2 inch (12 mm) floating plank is the thickest option in the line-up.

Really happy with the order process and the assistance when I went to pick it up at terminal
All cork flooring was in excellent condition when the boxes were opened.
Too bad this cork floor never goes on sale, or maybe that is a good thing as this would be in short supply.

Fast shipping. The cork flooring is shipped on a pallet. It was little disappointed that I need move all cork flooring by myself into my home. No damage.
I love the look of Forna Silver Birch cork flooring installation was extremely easy. The tongue and groove lock system were very easy work with. It is simply pushed into placed, but tiles still need to be tapped. The cork flooring looks great.

Easy to install. Trimming was simple. Cork planks ware relatively uniform in shade and really looks great. Our only issue was when we sealed it with the Loba Satin water based poly, the floor dried a litter slippery in first day. After few days, we can’t feel slippery anymore. Great appearance.

I put it down in our great room,, dining area, and hallway. It covers about 800 square feet. I checked out the installation guide on the icorkfloor website. Once you figure it out, it’s a piece of cake to install. The seams in this design are practically invisible! Just be careful when tapping the boards together, don’t tap the cork’s edge. You should tap on the lock system instead. This stuff is really top-notch, a fantastic product!
