Golden Beach Cork Flooring

Sun-washed golden cork in a 25/64 in (10 mm) floating plank that clicks together, quiets your rooms, and stays warm underfoot all year. Golden Beach earns its name. The natural cork face carries light, sandy golds that shift subtly from plank to plank, so the finished floor reads warm and organic rather than repetitive. Because this is real cork, natural shade differences between planks are a normal characteristic of the product, not a defect. Under that face sits a proper engineered build: a 1/8 in (3 mm) natural cork wear surface bonded to a 15/64 in (6 mm) E1 class high density fiberboard core, with a 3/64 in (1 mm) cork underlay already attached to the back. The surface is sealed with a high resistance Natural Shield water-based polyurethane finish, and the whole plank is made with formaldehyde free adhesives. The planks join with the industry-leading Uniclic click-lock profile, so the floor floats over your subfloor with no glue and no nails. With the cork underlay built in, each plank arrives ready to install, and the finished floor insulates against both acoustic vibration and thermal swings: it holds warmth in the room in winter and keeps unwanted heat out in summer, which helps trim heating and cooling bills. Cork's springy cell structure gives you a resilient, low-slip surface that is comfortable for seniors, children, and anyone with arthritis or joint pain. It is also hypo-allergenic, repels dust, hair, and other small particles, and resists stains, making it a well-being alternative to carpet. Rated for domestic class 23 and light commercial class 39 use, it is at home anywhere from bedrooms to a busy home office or small shop.

Golden Beach is a floating floor: the planks connect with the Uniclic click-lock profile, with no glue or nails. A 3/64 in (1 mm) cork underlay is already attached to the back of each plank, so you do not need to buy a separate underlayment.

If you are looking for a lot of colors and patterns cork this cork tile is not for you, as it kind of looks like a bulletin board on the floor to me. We did put two costs of poly and the result was a beautiful, rich look. We are very pleased.

Gorgeous floor, but note that the color varies wildly. My contractor followed the intrusion form Cancork and opened up all the boxes and shuffle cork flooring for the best visual appearance. The result was a checkerboard appearance, so we’re pulling the floor up and re-doing it, and hiding the worst planks under the cabinetry. If you’re doing a large area and need a uniform appearance, plan on buying quite a bit more than you need.

This is a great floor that is easy to install once you get the hang of it.
It is great to walk on; having a soft, warm feel.
With the cork underlay and the cork, my office is quieter. Not as slick as I thought it would be – which is a good thing.
There was a bit of color variation in the planks, some quite a bit lighter than others. Without the furniture on the floor, the variation is pretty obvious if you happen to get one of the light ones right next to dark ones, however I think it will blend in better once the furniture is in the room.
