Creme Royale Marble is cork's answer to a white marble floor. A creamy white field is marked with darker swirls, dimples, and knolls, giving the surface a subtle geography that both the eye and the foot can read. You get the visual ebb and flow of stone such as marble or granite, without the cold, hard feel of a stone tile.

Each tile is 12 in x 24 in (305 mm x 610 mm) and a full 5/16 in (8 mm) thick, solid cork from top to bottom: an 8 mm stained cork wear surface over a cork core and cork backing, sealed in a high resistance super-matte wax finish. The square-edge, straight-cut profile has no bevel, so installed tiles read as one large, seamless surface rather than a grid of joints.

Because the tile is 100 percent low-density, sound-absorbing cork, no separate underlayment is required. Glue it down with Wakol D3540 adhesive on a clean, level subfloor, or on concrete at or above grade, then roll on two coats of Loba 2K water-based polyurethane to lock the floor in. Rated for domestic class 23 and commercial class 32 use, it is at home in kitchens, bathrooms, and light commercial spaces alike. The cork bark is harvested under Portugal's regulated nine-year cycle without felling the tree, and the source notes cork oaks that remain productive for 170 years or more.

Why this floor

Important product note

Polyurethane is required after installation. Glued-down tiles, and white colored products such as Creme Royale Marble, need two coats of Loba 2K water-based polyurethane to seal the seams and finish the floor. Plan for enough finish to cover the full installed area twice, along with a 5% material overage when ordering tiles.
