Jet Black Cork Glue-Down Flooring

Jet Black is the floor you choose when you want the room to make a statement. The surface is pitted and pocked like cast concrete, and the deep black stained veneer keeps a subtle 3D effect even in a flat matte finish. It pulls focus in a space that feels too large and anchors any interior itching for drama.

Under that surface it is cork through and through: an 8 mm stained cork wear surface on a solid cork body, cut into 12 in x 24 in (305 x 610 mm) tiles at 5/16 in (8 mm) thick. The square-edged, straight-cut format installs seamlessly, so the finished floor reads as one continuous black plane rather than a grid of tiles.

Because the full 5/16 in thickness is low-density, sound-absorbing cork, no separate underlayment is needed. You get the look of concrete with none of its hardness or chill: cork compresses to around half its thickness and springs back, its airtight cells hold warmth in winter and keep heat out in summer, and every step lands soft and quiet.

Glue it down on a clean, level subfloor or on concrete at or above grade using Wakol D3540 adhesive, then seal with two coats of Loba 2K water-based polyurethane. Rated Commercial class 32, it is at home in kitchens, entrances, and light commercial spaces, and it can go on walls and ceilings as well as floors.

Important product note

Polyurethane is required after installation. As both a glue-down tile and a stained-color product, Jet Black must receive two coats of Loba 2K water-based polyurethane once the adhesive has set; this site-applied finish completes the wear surface and its water resistance.
