Silver Birch emulates narrow strip hardwood in light caramels and soft honey shades, peppered with darker browns. The effect is light and airy: a restful, zen-retreat kind of beauty that still reads as thoroughly modern. Each tile is 12 in x 24 in (30.5 cm x 61 cm) and a full 1/4 in (6 mm) of solid natural cork from top to bottom. The square-edged, straight-cut design installs seamlessly, so the finished floor reads as one large continuous surface rather than a grid of tiles. Because the tile is 100 percent low-density, sound-absorbing cork, no separate underlayment is required. Cork's honeycomb cell structure is about 50 percent air, which makes the floor warm underfoot, quiet, and gently resilient: an easy surface for seniors, children, and anyone with joint pain. I bought this cork tiles for our kitchen. It is very easy to install, great warm feel to your feet. easy to cut with table saw and chap say. due to the design of the cork, very hard to see scratches or dings which is very common with wood floors. We chose it for our kitchen. We updated our kitchen with a more modern flair and this fit the design bill perfect.
