Two worked examples

1. Floating cork in a 12 ft x 15 ft bedroom

  • Floor: Salami 12 mm floating, $6.39 per sq ft, 17.44 sq ft per box. 198 / 17.44 = 11.4, so 12 boxes: $1,337.28.

  • One T-molding at the doorway: about $54 to $81.
  • Material total: about $1,570 to $1,600 before shipping and tax.

Installation labor: DIY or installer

Floating click-lock cork is designed for confident DIY installers: it clicks together over a flat, dry subfloor without full-spread glue. Glue-down tiles take more preparation, contact cement on both surfaces and a finish coat, so many buyers hire an installer. Installer rates vary a lot by region, so get local quotes and share the installation instructions with them before booking.

Keep the price you sampled

Order samples before full boxes. If the product you sample is on sale, that price is held for 56 days after your sample order: checkout uses whichever is lower, today’s price or the price when you sampled, for the exact product you sampled.

How much does cork flooring cost per square foot?

At iCorkfloor, floating cork planks currently cost $5.49 to $8.69 per sq ft and glue-down cork tiles $4.99 to $6.89 per sq ft (prices checked September 27, 2026). That is the material price before supplies, shipping and labor.

Is floating or glue-down cork flooring cheaper?

Glue-down tiles start lower per square foot, but they also need contact cement (about $0.46 to $0.66 per sq ft) and a polyurethane finish. Floating planks need no glue, and underlayment under them is optional.

What else do I need to budget for besides the flooring?

Plan for optional cork underlayment under floating floors, adhesive and finish for glue-down tiles, T-moldings at doorways, stair nosing on steps, shipping and any installer fees.

How much cork flooring should I order?

Measure the room, add 5% to 15% for cuts and waste, then divide by the box coverage on the product page and round up to whole boxes. The room calculator on each product page does this for you.

Is shipping included in the price?

No. Free shipping may be available on orders of $3,500 or more and is confirmed at checkout. Smaller orders pay the freight shown at checkout.
