Recommended Procedure for Cork Floors

General Guidelines

  • Seal cork only after adhesive has fully cured
    (24 hours)

  • Apply a maximum of 2 coats per day

Untreated / Natural Cork Flooring or Cork Tiles

  1. Apply three total coats of LOBA 2K Supra AT

  2. First coat:

    • Roll evenly

    • Allow to dry 2–4 hours

  3. Second coat:

    • Apply evenly

    • Allow to dry overnight
(This reduces the risk of cork granule swelling)

  4. Intermediate sanding:

    • Use 180–220 grit perforated pad

    • Lightly sand to remove grain raise

    • Vacuum thoroughly

    • Tack the surface using a clean microfiber mop pad, lightly dampened with water

  5. Apply final coat evenly

Prefinished Cork Flooring or Tiles

  • Follow recommendations provided by the cork manufacturer

  • If recoating is approved:

    • Lightly sand the surface

    • Apply 1–2 coats of LOBA 2K Supra AT

  • Ensure proper adhesion through testing before full application

Best Practices for Optimal Results

  • Maintain consistent temperature and airflow

  • Work methodically to maintain a wet edge

  • Avoid over-rolling

  • Clean tools immediately after use

  • Protect the surface from moisture during curing

Final Notes

LOBA 2K Supra AT provides a durable, professional-grade finish that preserves cork’s natural warmth, elasticity, and appearance. Correct preparation, mixing, and application are essential for long-term performance—especially on cork surfaces, which are more porous than traditional hardwood.
