Pinewood Cork Flooring
The bright, Scandinavian look of natural pine, built on 7/16 in (11 mm) of Swiss-engineered cork that stays warm, quiet, and comfortable underfoot.
Pinewood is a light-toned floating cork floor that mimics natural pinewood. If you want the airy, minimalist feel of a pale wood floor without the hardness, coldness, or chemical load, this plank delivers that look in a purely natural material: cork, harvested from the bark of the cork oak without felling a single tree.
Each plank is a three-layer sandwich: a 3 mm cork top layer over a 6.8 mm E1 grade moisture resistant HDF core, finished with a 1.2 mm agglomerated cork backing. The surface is sealed with HotCoating protection and a high resistant Natural Shield water based polyurethane, which is how a soft-look floor earns commercial class 33 and AC5 abrasion resistance.
Underfoot, cork's honeycomb cell structure (roughly 40 million air-filled cells per cubic centimeter) makes the difference you feel. The floor is permanently elastic, gentle on ankles, and insulating enough that walking barefoot in winter no longer means cold feet. It also cuts impact sound by 18 dB, so footsteps land softly instead of echoing.
The planks lock together with the patented Uniclic click system, adapted so the joints close watertight. Six planks per carton cover 15.95 sq ft, and the floor floats over the subfloor: no glue, no nails.
Why this floor
- Rated for heavy use: commercial class 33 and domestic class 23 (EN 16511), with AC5 abrasion resistance and a 15 year residential warranty (5 years commercial).
- 18 dB impact sound reduction (EN ISO 717-2), thanks to cork's honeycomb cell structure of about 40 million cells per cm³.
- Watertight Uniclic joints: the adapted click system exceeds European standards, eliminates open joints, and tests to a locking strength above 500 kg per linear meter (ISO 24334).
- Full 7/16 in (11 mm) build: 3 mm cork wear layer over a 6.8 mm E1 grade moisture resistant HDF core with a 1.2 mm agglomerated cork backing.
- Naturally warm: thermal resistance of 0.108 m² K/W keeps the surface at a comfortable temperature all year.
- Emissions documentation: AgBB, GreenGuard Gold and formaldehyde test reports.
- Dimensionally stable (under 0.05% per EN 434) with residual indentation of at most 0.15 mm, so furniture marks recover.
Important product note
This floor uses a patented Uniclic joint that is intentionally tighter than standard click systems in order to lock watertight and eliminate open joints. Installation takes a little extra effort: always tap planks together with a 20 cm (about 8 in) taping block. Skipping the block risks edge damage; using it guarantees precise joints and keeps the flooring looking pristine.
