Tasmanian Burl Cork Glue-Down Flooring

Coffee-dark burl cork in a 12 in x 24 in (305 x 610 mm) glue-down tile: 18 dB of impact sound reduction and a commercial class 32 rating in a floor that feels warm the moment you step on it.

Tasmanian Burl is the dark roast of cork flooring. Rich coffee browns swirl through softer toffee and caramel tones, forming eddies that read like slow-moving water. Scattered through the pattern are the natural cuts and divots of burl cork, giving each 1/4 inch (6 mm) tile real visual depth and a rustic, almost smoky character. It is a natural fit for a den, a wine bar, or any room that should feel settled and warm.

Each tile is natural cork through and through: a 6 mm cork wear surface over a cork core with a cork backing, cut square-edged and straight so tiles meet without bevels or gaps. Once glued down, the floor reads as one continuous, finished surface rather than a grid of tiles.

Underfoot, cork behaves unlike any hard flooring. Its cellular structure traps gas in millions of tiny cells, so the surface gives slightly, stays warm in winter, and keeps unwanted heat out in summer. That same resilience makes it a low-slip, forgiving surface for seniors, children, and anyone with joint pain.

Install it over a clean, level plywood subfloor or concrete at or above grade using Wakol D3540 cork adhesive, then seal with two coats of Loba 2K polyurethane. Finished this way, Tasmanian Burl is rated for bathrooms, entryways, and light commercial spaces as well as every room in the house.

Important product note

Finish coats depend on where and how the product is installed. Bedrooms can get by with one coat of finish, but kitchens, living rooms, dining rooms, entryways, commercial spaces, white or stained colored products, and all glued-down tiles (this product) require two coats. Fusion products are the exception and do not require site-applied finish.
