The beloved chunky cork look, refined in clean gold oak tones: a 1/2 in (12 mm) floating plank that is warm, quiet, and easy to live with.

Salami takes the classic chunky cork pattern that made natural cork famous and reinvents it. The strong dark patterning is gone, and the peach hue has been replaced by clean gold oak tones. What remains is a striking, warm floor with all the visual texture of traditional cork and none of the busyness.

Under the surface, this is a full 1/2 in (12 mm) engineered plank: a 1/8 in (3 mm) natural cork top layer over a 1/4 in (6 mm) E1 Class high density fiberboard core, with a 1/8 in (3 mm) cork underlay already attached. The surface is sealed with a high resistance Natural Shield water-based polyurethane wear layer, so the natural cork decor stays protected in daily use.

Planks connect with the industry-leading Uniclic click-lock profile and float over the subfloor, making this a practical choice for bedrooms, living areas, and light commercial spaces alike. Can I install this floor myself?

Yes. Salami is a floating floor with the industry-leading Uniclic click-lock profile: planks click together and float over the subfloor. A 1/8 in (3 mm) cork underlay is already attached to every plank, so you do not need to buy or lay a separate underlayment. Plan for about 10% overage when ordering.

Will it stand up to a busy household or pets?

The surface is sealed with a high resistance Natural Shield water-based polyurethane wear layer and is rated Domestic class 23 and Light Commercial class 45, so it handles active homes and light commercial traffic. It is impact resistant, stain resistant, and covered by a 10-year residential wear warranty plus a lifetime structural warranty.

Does it really make a room quieter and warmer?

I had problems getting the concrete floor absolutely level. Once that was okay, the installation was easy. I put polyurethane over the whole floor after it was finished to seal the seams. I love the look and feel of my new Forna “Salami” cork floor.)

This floor came out great. Looks nice. I didn’t have any issues with color variance. It is very easy to install. You do need a tap block but compared it. Plus the boards are 1 x 3 so it goes quick.
I haven’t had any issues with durability. It’s been hold high traffic very well.

There was noise issue from our squeaky hardwood floor. I have tightened the hardwood floor with screws, but the squeaky noise was still there. The 12mm cork floating floor does nicely with a 3mm cork underlay…it feels so nice under foot. The Forna 12mm cork floating floor is so thick (2mm more cork than 10mm Wicanders Cork). The room became quieter.
