Berber takes its cue from the classic looped carpet it is named after. The natural cork decor carries that same flecked, textural pattern, so a room reads soft and chic underfoot, but the surface wipes clean instead of trapping hair, dust, and other small particles. If you love the carpet look but not the upkeep or the allergens, this is the trade you have been waiting to make.

Each plank is a full 1/2 in (12 mm) thick, built in three layers: a 1/8 in (3 mm) natural cork wear surface over a 1/4 in (6 mm) E1 class high density fiberboard core, with a 1/8 in (3 mm) cork underlay already attached. That sandwich is what gives the floor its footing: the rigid core keeps the Uniclic click joints tight, while cork above and below cushions every step and damps sound in both directions, down through the floor and up through the ceiling.

Cork's cellular structure makes it a natural insulator against both noise and temperature swings, so the floor feels warm in winter, helps keep unwanted heat out in summer, and can trim heating and cooling bills. The resilient, low slip surface is forgiving on joints, which makes it a favorite for seniors, kids, and anyone dealing with arthritis or joint pain. It floats over the subfloor with no glue or nails, and the factory finish (a high resistance Natural Shield water-based polyurethane) is stain resistant and easy to maintain.
