Jet Black

Jet Black Cork Glue-Down Flooring

The blackest cork floor in the line: a flat matte, concrete-look tile with the warmth, quiet, and give that only solid cork delivers.

Jet Black is the floor you choose when you want the room to make a statement. The surface is pitted and pocked like cast concrete, and the deep black stained veneer keeps a subtle 3D effect even in a flat matte finish. It pulls focus in a space that feels too large and anchors any interior itching for drama.

These solid cork tiles have a stained surface, square edges and a straight-cut profile. Each tile is 12 in x 24 in (305 x 610 mm) and 5/16 in (8 mm) thick.

Because the full 5/16 in thickness is low-density, sound-absorbing cork, no separate underlayment is needed. You get the look of concrete with none of its hardness or chill: cork compresses to around half its thickness and springs back, its airtight cells hold warmth in winter and keep heat out in summer, and every step lands soft and quiet.

Glue it down on a clean, level subfloor or on concrete at or above grade using Wakol D3540 adhesive, then seal with two coats of Loba 2K water-based polyurethane. Rated Commercial class 32, it is at home in kitchens, entrances, and light commercial spaces, and it can go on walls and ceilings as well as floors.

Why this floor

• The blackest cork floor in the product line: a stained, flat matte, concrete-look surface with a pitted, pocked texture and a subtle 3D visual effect.
• Renewable bark construction: a cork oak's average 150-year lifespan can support roughly 8 to 15 harvests without cutting down the tree.
• Solid cork construction: an 8 mm cork top layer on a cork core with a cork backing, so no separate underlayment is required.
• Real acoustic numbers: impact sound reduction of 24 dB (tested at 6 mm), and 3 mm to 12 mm of cork can mute sound by 10 to 20 decibels.
• Roughly 40 million air-filled cells per cubic centimeter act as a decibel absorber and thermal barrier, cutting heating and cooling costs.
• Rated Commercial class 32 and Domestic class 23, impact resistant, and resistant to scuffs and stains.
• Made with formaldehyde-free adhesives. Review the product’s emissions documentation.
• Backed by a 10-year residential wear warranty, a joint integrity warranty, and a lifetime structural warranty.

Important product note

Polyurethane is required after installation. As both a glue-down tile and a stained-color product, Jet Black must receive two coats of Loba 2K water-based polyurethane once the adhesive has set; this site-applied finish completes the wear surface and its water resistance.
