5-Year Commercial Warranty – Cork Flooring

Commercial Cork Flooring Warranty Coverage
Cork flooring installed in approved commercial environments is protected by the following warranties:

  • 5-Year Commercial Wear Warranty

  • Lifetime Structural Warranty

  • Lifetime Joint Integrity Warranty

These warranties apply only when the product is installed, maintained, and used according to all manufacturer instructions.


1. Commercial Wear-Through Warranty (5 Years)

The commercial wear warranty applies only when two additional coats of a high-quality commercial water-based polyurethane (such as LOBA 2K Supra AT) are applied on-site after installation.

Coverage includes:

  • Visible wear-through of the finish layer

  • Wear affecting at least 10% of the total installed area

The following are not covered under wear-through:

  • Loss of gloss

  • Minor scratches

  • Surface scuffs

  • Normal appearance changes from commercial traffic


2. Lifetime Structural Warranty

The flooring is warranted to be free from structural manufacturing defects for the lifetime of the product when used under normal commercial conditions.


3. Lifetime Joint Integrity Warranty

The locking system is guaranteed to remain secure under normal use.
Seasonal gaps up to 0.2 mm (0.01″) are considered normal for natural cork and are not classified as defects.


General Warranty Conditions

This commercial warranty applies only when all of the following conditions are met:

1. Original Purchaser Only

  • Valid from date of purchase

  • Non-transferable

  • Applies only to the original installation address

  • Expires if the material or property is sold or reassigned

2. Approved Use Areas

Covered locations include indoor, climate-controlled commercial spaces with standard foot traffic.
Not valid for wet or high-moisture environments (bathrooms, saunas, commercial kitchens, pool decks, etc.).


Subfloor & Moisture Requirements

Concrete Subfloors

  • Calcium chloride test required

  • Results must not exceed 2.27 kg / 93 m² / 24 hours

  • Moisture meter readings must be ≤ 4.5%

Wood Subfloors

  • Moisture content must be ≤ 14%

  • Polyethylene vapor barrier must not be used over wood substrates

Adhesive Installations

Approved adhesives must meet or exceed the following:

  • PVAC dispersion

  • Viscosity 8000 ± 1000 cpc

  • Density 1.11 ± 0.02 g/cm³

  • Dry content 48 ± 1%

After installation, flooring must remain unused for 12 hours to allow adhesive curing.


Indoor Climate Requirements

For cork flooring, a stable indoor environment is essential:

  • Maintain 30–60% relative humidity year-round

  • Use humidifiers or dehumidifiers as needed

  • Flooring must be installed and used only in indoor, climate-controlled spaces


Water Damage Exclusions

Warranty does not cover:

  • Standing water

  • Subfloor moisture

  • Hydrostatic pressure

  • Flooding

  • Plumbing leaks

  • Damage from wet maintenance practices


Installation Requirements

All installation instructions must be followed exactly.
Improper installation voids the warranty.


Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Wet mopping is not permitted.

  • Only approved cork-safe cleaners may be used.

  • Surface finish must be recoated as needed to maintain protection.
    Failure to maintain the finish voids the warranty.


Inspection & Acceptance

  • All flooring must be inspected prior to installation.

  • Installation constitutes acceptance of color, shade, pattern, texture, and all visible characteristics.

  • Warranty does not cover material installed with visible or obvious defects.


Natural Characteristics & Expectation Management

Cork is a natural product, and natural variation is expected.
This includes:

  • Variations in color, grain, shading

  • Aging and patina

  • UV or sunlight exposure changes

  • Differences between samples and delivered material

  • Color differences in replacement planks ordered years later

These variations are not defects and are not covered by warranty.


Warranty Exclusions

This warranty does not cover:

  1. Moisture-related issues (mildew, hydrostatic pressure, moisture imbalance).

  2. Damage from extreme heat, cold, or overly dry conditions.

  3. Subfloor problems or improper subfloor preparation.

  4. Scratches, gouges, dents, burns, stains, cuts, punctures.

  5. Damage from moving heavy furniture or appliances.

  6. Loss of gloss or normal wear patterns in high-traffic areas.

  7. Differences in color caused by sunlight or age.

  8. Mismatch with cabinets, décor, or furnishings.

  9. Use of improper tools, adhesives, or installation materials.

  10. Failure to follow installation or maintenance instructions.

  11. Damage caused by sports equipment, high heels, or pet claws.

  12. Installations in non-recommended locations.

  13. Post-shipping insect infestation.

  14. Damage from falling objects.

  15. Non-factory applied finishes or any on-site refinishing.

  16. Normal commercial wear in heavy-traffic zones.


Filing a Warranty Claim

To submit a claim:

  1. Notify your retailer in writing within 15 days of discovering the issue.

  2. Include:

    • Proof of purchase

    • Product name and batch information

    • Photos showing the issue

    • Quantity installed

  3. The retailer will review the claim and arrange inspection if necessary.

  4. If approved, replacement material of the same or similar design will be provided.

Labor, removal, installation, and related costs are not covered.
Only one replacement may be issued during the lifetime of the warranty.

Any repair or modification made prior to inspection will void the warranty.
