Walnut Burlwood Cork Glue-Down Flooring

Deep walnut, tobacco, and espresso tones in a 5/16 in (8 mm) solid cork tile that glues straight to the subfloor: dramatic color, quiet comfort, no underlayment needed.

Walnut Burlwood brings the drama without going completely black. A wash of dark shades blends walnut, tobacco, acacia, and espresso into a rich, deep mid-tone floor. The pattern comes from the cork itself, so the flow is natural and no two tiles are exactly alike. As a dark but neutral surface, its tone-on-tone colors cool down a room that feels too open while keeping it calm.

Each tile is 5/16 in x 12 in x 24 in (8 mm x 305 mm x 610 mm) of 100 percent natural cork: an 8 mm cork wear surface over a cork core and cork backing. The square-edged, straight-cut design installs seamlessly, so the finished floor reads as one large continuous unit rather than a grid of tiles. Because the full thickness is low-density, sound-absorbing cork, no separate underlayment is required.

Underfoot, it behaves the way only cork can. The material's cellular structure is millions of tiny air pockets (roughly 50 percent of cork is air), which makes the floor warm in winter, cool in summer, and soft enough to ease the load on knees and joints. Glue it down over a clean, level subfloor, or over concrete that is at or above grade, then seal it on site with two coats of Loba 2K water-based polyurethane for kitchens, entryways, and other hard-working rooms.

Cork is harvested from the bark of the cork oak, which regrows and can be stripped every 9 years without harming the tree. The flooring industry uses material left over from wine-stopper production, which makes this one of the greenest floors you can put in a home.

Important product note

Glue-down cork tiles are not finished until they are sealed: after installation, this floor requires two coats of Loba 2K water-based polyurethane over the entire surface. This on-site sealing step applies to all glued-down tiles, including kitchen, entryway, and commercial installations, and it is what locks the seams into one continuous, water-resistant surface.
