Bleached Birch Cork Flooring

A soft, milky off-white with gray undertones that gives you the painted-floorboard look with the warmth and quiet of 1/2 inch (12mm) cork.

Bleached Birch is an off-white that leans gray rather than yellow, with light tinges of baby blue and a creamy beige keeping it neutral and flexible. The finish reads more milky than creamy, which is exactly why it works: it recreates the feeling of painted floorboards or old washed-out barnwood without committing you to a stark white or a flat gray. That makes it a natural fit for cottage and beach-cottage rooms, and one of the most popular whites in the lineup for anyone caught between strong whites and boring grays.

Under the color is a full 1/2 inch (12mm) floating plank: a 1/8 inch (3mm) cork wear surface over a 1/4 inch (6mm) E1 class high density fiberboard core, with a 1/8 inch (3mm) cork underlay already attached. Planks click together with the industry-leading Uniclic profile, so the floor floats glue-free over your subfloor while the built-in cork underlay quiets footfall from the first step.

The pattern and color have been so popular that they are also reproduced in 6mm and 8mm glue-down cork tiles, so you can carry the same floor into bathrooms, kitchens, and entrance ways where a glue-down tile makes more sense.

It is a floating floor with the Uniclic click-lock profile: planks click together over your subfloor with no glue, and the 3mm cork underlay is already attached, so there is no separate underlayment to buy.

Do I need to seal it after installation?

Yes. Bleached Birch is a stained colored product, so a coat of polyurethane is required after installation to lock in the seams and protect the color.

Can I use it in a kitchen or bathroom?

For bathrooms, kitchens, and entrance ways, the better choice is the same Bleached Birch color in the 6mm or 8mm glue-down cork tiles, which are made for exactly those spaces. That lets you continue one flooring choice throughout the home.
